Hi, thanks for watching my video and asking your questions. I looked up my original order from 2021 and the prices are a just tad bit lower. I paid about ¥20,600 JPY (~$187 in 2021) to ship my Shiki Futon + Cover single size, plus 2x zabuton covers. It was shipped via Japan Post which is usually cheaper than DHL/UPS,/FedEx. Looks like these days they don't offer Japan Post anymore. My single+futon cover set was ¥38,500 back then. Looks like they have been raising their prices, but the US Dollar is very strong right now at over 150 JPY per USD. It was about 110 yen to dollar when I bought my set. All in all, the prices are pretty close. I wanted the most authentic and best quality and was willing to spend more. It's up to you if you want to pay the extra for Takaokaya, but I can say after 3.5 years of daily use, my futon and covers are perfect. BTW, no customs issues for USA orders. As for if you should buy the covers together or separately, see how much additional shipping costs if added with the mattress vs buying them alone. I think you can save some money by bundling it all together. Hope this helps!

The way it's designed you need to find a case with the extra clearance. They really should have indented that side by a half an inch, and it would have made it more compatible with many more cases. Great idea, mediocre execution.

After about 6 months, the auto-off, auto-stop stopped working on mine. But then a few months later, it all started working again, and still does as of today. I have no idea what happened. I still use them every day and they sound great. As for new vs refurbished, it depends on the price difference and warranty. My refurbished pair came with a 2 year warranty. I think brand new comes with 1 year, but some credit cards will add another year. Bottom line, you'll want a 2 year warranty just in case.

But that does nothing for theft

@@diceflawless9115 Well it could be a deterrent because you can’t just pop it off with a quick grab. I can’t imagine these would be a high theft item. But mounting higher would help. You will also have the thief on video.

@@diceflawless9115 I just picked up one yesterday for $120 or $129 from my local Home Depot! That's even cheaper than Google sells the cameras to us as their 'Google/Nest Pro' installers. But I still see your point. Granted Google will replace the cameras with a valid police report if stolen but still a headache to go through. There will always be a battle between convenience and security though - if you had 8 screws to remove your battery cam to bring in for a charge it would push many customers away.

This video is for a 22 year old car, but you're right about overpriced features and accessories. Even cars today suffer from that.

@@TofuRobots yeah, absolutely! It’s what prompted me to reach out. The Soundwave I have has a really similar design to the knock off you bought in that video. It has the molding on the battery pack as well. Now I’m trying to figure out if it’s from the 1983 line from Takara or if it’s a very convincing fake. Any way to tell for certain?

is this a known issue with all sony xm5 models or is it just because it is refurbished

@@borak418 it's a common issue, mine ones got the same problem, the sensor works, but the earpads are like bad designed, so the headphones always detects that they are being weared, but if you get off the earpads, you can test the sensor, and it works, but after putting on the earpads again, the sensor gets bugged

I wish I still had the box. I remember as a kid absolutely loving SDF-1. It's a bit different 40 years later, but still love these things!

I think I've used mine twice since posting this video. Both times in the driveway however. Hard to say how healthy the battery is. I just top it off every few months or before a trip. But yeah, these things don't last forever.

This is my first water cooler, but if your CPU is idle or not doing much, there isn't as much of a need to have it at full speed. Any time the CPU gets busy and the temperature goes over a set limit, my cooler speeds up accordingly however. The biggest benefit is reduced noise during low cpu usage.

@@TofuRobots I like to have the pumps running full speed all the time just to be safe, not the fans though, way too loud, getting this exact cooler today😁

I have ordered from them at least twice and never had to pay any more than the item cost plus shipping. In fact, I've ordered items from many other countries and never had any issues with additional customs fees. Probably a US thing. I know folks from other countries have to pay additional taxes and fees for imported items.
